Feeling Virtuous - Ready for Painting

I can't believe I actually got it all done! I'm ready for the two bedrooms and two bathrooms to be painted tomorrow! Boy, do I feel virtuous.

This is an extension of my "home improvement" efforts this year. The bathrooms still had the wallpaper that was on them when I moved in 8-1/2 years ago (!) (and how I hated that gray guest bathroom) and I really don't think I had the bedrooms done then, either - both had been painted by the former owner after the renters moved out.

The guest bedroom will be a pale, pale blue - paler than the lightest blue in the floor. Well, actually, it's white paint with a couple of drops of blue in it. My bedroom will also be a pale, pale color - but green - the name of the color is, get this, White Roquette, whatever that means. My bedroom often has a pale green cast to it, anyway, with the north light kind of reflecting the green from the trees out in back. I'm kind of just giving it a hand with that.

The guest bathroom will be the same green as the kitchen; had plenty of that left over from my projects three years ago. And there will be LOTS of pink accents in it. (Go back and read Ryan's first installment regarding his visit here in August if you need a clue about that.)

My bathroom will be ivy green about 26" up the wall from the bottom and a very pale peach from there up to the ceiling. Have to admit I am kind of copying what Jenni did to her half-bath off the garage/kitchen, but I really like the way that looks. I'll put a faux oak "chair rail" on the wall where the colors meet.

I'm really exicted about getting this done. I'll have some touching up to do in the hall ways and living room, but that can happen in it's own good time.

And I really didn't think I'd be able to do all the prep I wanted to do before getting the painting done, but, by golly, I did. Now, like Cinderella, I can go out tonight - it's ballet night and I'm excited about that, too. It's a "pops" ballet, and I'm eager to see what they do. What a wonderful troupe we have here in Orlando. It's really world class, and it looks as though it'll continue that way for a long time. Lucky me!
