NBC's Heroes is Must See TV

Heroes

In March, I gave a nod to the CBS drama, The Unit. I still make a point to watch it, and we even rented the DVDs to catch up on the first season episodes we'd missed. But The Unit's status as my favorite has been supplanted by this fall's new NBC series, Heroes. As far as I'm concerned, pretty much all of the other shows I've been following have jumped the shark. I'm sick of the whole CSI franchise, and Jack's morose attitude on Without A Trace. We gave up on 24 back in the third season because it was just too hard to watch, but I think it would have jumped for me by now, anyway. We're not sure if The Unit is going to have the necessary staying power in the long run, but it's still developing at this point, so we're happy for now.

Heroes will last for a while, I think. They're unveiling just enough in each episode to keep us satisfied, while starting new hints all the time. The end of episode 4 on MOnday night was a big twist on several levels, though to talk about it would be a heck of a spoiler.

Heroes

I agree with Micah. I am totally hooked on this show. I accidentally watched the first episode and missed the second, the ending to the third and fourth have kept me coming back. I have purposefully stayed away from new shows this season so as NOT to get attached to anything new. (I am trying to watch less TV and was pretty successful over the summer with reruns and "reality" shows taking over the tube. I found I enjoyed having my evenings free to get some things done I can't do with Lucy awake!) I really haven't kept up on any of my "old" shows (except My Name Is Earl - the funniest show on network television) this season.

Back to Heroes. The premise is so interesting to me - that humans will evolve to have supernatural powers and the twists and bits of information we get each week just sucked me in.

It's good to know someone who is enjoying it too!
