Lunchtime Rants and Ramblings

Del Taco

I love Del Taco. I really do. And the fact that this predominatly west-coast chain is soon opening their second Michigan location is good news to me. Unfortunately, after several months of really good service to go along with their excellent food, they've started hiring some real dingalings. It's probably even more frustrating when you go there often enough that you know what they're going to ask - in what order - so you try to save time by just putting all of the correct answers into your order:

"I'd like a number eight combo, medium, with a coffee. No cream. No sugar."

"What would you like to drink with that?"

Other than that, and the fact that you can only contact them via phone or snail mail, I like 'em.

Don Massey Cadillac

On the other hand, years (dare I say decades?) of being bombarded with ads from Don Massey Cadillac has not inspired me to go out and buy a luxury car. Don't know how the ad campaign is going in other areas where Massey has dealerships, but judging from the current running ad here in the motor city, old Don's losing it.

"Statistically and globably (sic) speaking, we sell more new Cadillacs than any other dealership in the world."

Uh, Don... "We sell more" is a statistic, "in the world" implies global, and globably isn't a word. Maybe it's time to quit doing your own ads, no matter how much money it's made you over the years.

Inconsistant Bloggers

And then there are people who start a Family Friday series on their blog and don't follow through. Yeah, that would be me. Sorry! Last Friday was more of a Family Weekend than a single-day thing, as next weekend will be, so I haven't had time to blog it yet.

Short Term Memory Loss

I'm pretty sure that while driving back from Del Taco, I had at least two more topics that were going to find their way in here. Maybe later I'll remember what they were. In the meantime, feel free to entertain yourself with my del.icio.us links over on the right to see what I've been reading, watching, and bookmarking lately. Yeah, there's lots of drag racing stuff there, since Keith is finally going to get the car out on the track this weekend, and because I just did some major upgrades on his web site. But if you scroll back through the older entries, you'll also find few amusing videos I haven't had time to blog about.

Well, lunch is over. Back to work...

Lunchtime Musings (I *think* - talk about short term memory)

Vicki

Micah, your short term memory may be skipping a beat now and then - but either your lunch time is long or you are on 78 rpm while everyone else is hanging around at 45! And they laughed at me when I did some stream of conciousness writing. Glad I decided to check out some stuff tonight!
