I know, I know, I started a story last week and left you all hanging. Fortunately, thanks to blogger Steve Pavlina, I'm up and around this morning, although I've been so darned productive that I almost ran out of time to blog, anyway. On Wednesday, I read Steve's posting on How to Get Up Right Away When Your Alarm Goes Off. "When your alarm wakes you up in the morning, is it hard for you to get up right away? Do you find yourself hitting the snooze button and going right back to sleep?" Yep, that's me, for decades. Steve provides some insight about how he broke himself of this pattern. I didn't follow his recommendation to practice waking up when you're not really asleep, but since I'm a highly suggestible IT person, all I've really needed to do is to remind myself before falling asleep that I'm trying to recondition myself to wake up when the alarm goes off. So far it's been working.
So anyway, I kinda stopped blogging about the Ignited Center grand opening because my direct involvement really ended after the rehearsal last Sunday. Wednesday's opening went fantastically, with over 600 teenagers packing out the Coliseum to standing-room-only attendance. 140 kids responded to the salvation call. I'm sure that the Lord is going to do many great and powerful things through this facility!
I will get my chance in there in a few weeks, when we have our adult Sunday morning services (three instead of the usual two, due to the smaller seating capacity) in the Coliseum as a time of dedication and enjoyment. First, however, we've got our annual Spring Convention this week, starting tomorrow and running through Wednesday. Pastor has lined up some great speakers, including one of my all-time favorites, Kemp Holden from Fort Smith, AR.
So it's still busy time, and I actually have to cut this short to go get dressed for an extra band practice at 8:00am, but I've tucked away a couple more topics, and hopefully I'll get a chance to blog more later this weekend!
