Wanna go shopping?

While rearranging basement storage spaces for Christmas decorations, I decided to finally pull out a stack of magazines that have been on a back corner shelf for many years. I knew that I had saved September issues of Seventeen Magazine ever since Sheri was born. Well that is up until 2000. Short story here: I took all of them to the high school for a memory display during the 2000 OHS Alumni Reunion. Before I got back to reclaim them, someone had thrown them all away! I've been very sad about that ever since. Bygones be bygones.

What I did find were Glamour magazines, and a few McCalls, from the 70's. I'll get around to posting those at another time. Seeing those did make up for the lost Seventeens.

I had the most fun looking through these catalogs from the early 80's. With our new copy machine at the office with scan to email capabilities, I couldn't pass up the ease of sharing a few pages. Believe me, there are MANY more that would amuse you.

Hope this conjures up a few memories.

Guess I should have added to my blog that you'll have to go to my gallery to view the album. Choose the larger view option to get a really good look at each page. Enjoy!

Mention of McCall's

Jenni's mention of McCall's magazine made me realize that I forgot to note in my blog entry regarding the things I've done to my home that I was surprised to discover, when my first order from "Wallies" in three years was received, that "Wallies" is now a part of "McCall's." I'm pretty sure I would have noted that three years ago when I got the palm trees that I put on the doors to the Murphy bed. Getting a product from McCall's was something of a time-warp thing all in itself. Seeing that very familiar name/logo on the return address of the package took me back to all of those years of sewing and the numerous patterns in Mom's drawer by the sewing machine. And, now, here's the name again in Jenni's blog entry.

Finding the magazines must have been a real trip, Jenni. What a blast from the past! Thanks for sharing.
